Health and Cholesterol

It is said that if cholesterol level of people is reduced by 25%, coronary diseases can be reduced automatically by about 50%.High serum cholesterol and coronary heart diseases are linked with each other.Higher the cholesterol there is higher risk of such diseases and complexities of body systems and basic synergy of vital organs of our body.It certainly changes with lifestyle and age but it should be regularly checked and controlled by us.If the level is more than two hundred at any point of time, a person over 4o should get it checked annually.HDL and LDL are names of lipid matters of serum which are contrary in features. These should also be kept in proper balance separately and determined with caution by lipid profile test.Poly unsaturated fats, sunflower, corn, soybean and cotton seed oil help to reduce overall cholesterol level. Some mono saturated fats like olive oil and peanut oil also reduce it.Cholesterol level can be easily reduced if meat, egg, ice-cream, butter and fish are reduced in our diet and removed gradually from our dishes.Oat, rice bran, wheat bran and whole grains reduce cholesterol because of the fibre contents in them.
Regular exercise increase HDL and it reduces the risk of coronary heart diseases immensely that is why it is called good cholesterol in common language.Low fat in our body, a high fibre diet, balance of lipids in our blood are the key factors for all this.Simply by decreasing the risk of development of atherosclerosis we can lead long and healthy life.
