Character and Integrity

It is very simple, who we are is more important than who we appear to be. Character is software of this material body and world . It is most essential aspect of life and gives direction to life with meaning and depth. It includes fairness, generosity and integrity etc. Character and integrity are twin chords of success and self help in every aspect of life. Skill is needed for success but happiness, fulfillment and sustainability of success is guaranteed by character only.
Wrong is to start doing wrong, not getting caught: it is the crux of character and integrity. Integrity requires a personal standard of morality and ethics that does not sell out to expediency and is certainly not relative to the situation at particular time. Character and integrity are inner standard of judgment of our behavior. These virtues are getting scarcer everyday in our present society but these are bottom line in every area of family as well as society. Our ego makes others look small and generates a society of dwarfs. One should never be afraid, who might have better idea and is smarter than us. Let us come forward to give credit to all of them whenever there is a possibility.
If you believe you are right never back down. Stand firmly for your convictions and never yield to pressure. This is most important ingredient of character and integrity. We should also rely on genuine core values because no development is possible without this. It is true for a person, institution and a nation. We have to stop doing what is fashionable or expected from outward and society. When it is sure, one will not be caught for doing wrong and even if he does something for his own benefit no one is going to discredit him: a man of integrity will do what is in the interest of masses and always fair. When we tell the truth to our own self we practice integrity and build character. When we tell this to others it is honesty which build our reputation. The trap of easy morality is to be avoided with every net of greed. People with good character and integrity, being more open to opportunities around them, become richer, happier and luckier.
