Corruption

According to The Times Of India News, 20th Dec 2014 in the projects 22% cost is paid as bribe in Maharashtra, from clerk to politician a fixed percentage is offered to get work order. No bidder dares to challenge this system; and everyone makes it sure that he gets his piece of cake.
What is corruption? It is a particular type of behaviour, deviation from normal duties of public role because of personal gains. This includes bribery, nepotism and misappropriation of any kind.It is basically and broadly abuse of power and public office for personal gains.Corruption of any kind impedes rule of law, democracy and federal structure of states.Loss of legitimacy of institutions is caused by corruption which reduces transparency and distorts political development sustaining nepotism and patronage system. It is manifested in society in the later stage as political intolerance. In the economic field corruption leads to depletion of national wealth. It increases cost of goods and services, it leads to misallocation and diversion of public wealth, finally leading to unfair competition and impoverishment of entire population. All this widens gap between the rich and poor resulting lack of basic needs in multiple forms of hatred and jealousy.
