Mahashivratri

     Mahashivratri is great night of Shiva, the great destroyer shown with his right foot on the dwarf which depicts rejection of darkness and ignorance.The crescent moon on his forehead indicates  perfect and super control of mind.Shiv, Bhim, Ugra, Rudra, Pashupati, Mahadev and Eashan are eight personality forms of Shivaji.Natraj is the dancing Shiva with nature and Bhairav is the abstinence of God.In the same way Shivalinga is expression of the formless and omnipotent Purush i.e. Shiv as nature is female power.The wood apple leaves, cold water and milk is offered on Shivalinga on the auspicious day of Shivratri and devotees make these offerings to adore and please Shiva.
