Attitude of Gratitude

We should never forget good things done by others. Gratitude is the foremost in gradient of righteousness and ingratitude is more than a sin. Voluntary, timely and motiveless help rendered by someone should be remembered and wrongs if any done by others should be forgotten. To serve the parents with best of one’s capacity is the most important aspect of our life and first sense of practical gratitude. Heaven and earth can’t repay the help rendered by persons who are not under prior obligation to do such services. True teachers and redeemers of our society shower causeless mercy on their beneficiaries which can’t be repaid in any manner. Any help rendered can never be measured in terms of material: lack of wishes of returns or lack of aspiration of the doer makes it really divine. Confucius said, “forget injuries, never forget kindness”.

.....an old and incapaciated father in his thoughts towards his son...... my dear son ..will you be kind enough to remember the first steps that you took holding my fingers...would you also remember that you tumbeled and cried while doing so and then became happy when i embraced you...would you also remember my son that when you were down and out you took shelter in my embrace..the dark clouds of sorrow disappeared when i took all your problems and the sunshine of happiness was shown all over your face... that son now a father himself redeems the same thoughts towards his son...and the poor old man continues to suffer ..and why not ? The old men are destenied to suffer.... and the story continues forever........this is our sense of gratitude...

We should definitely not forget what others gave us, in fact, it is not what others gave us, it is what God wanted to give us and so he set a couple of means to make us privileged by it. Also, if we start taking good things in account, it simply and automatically will enrich the human in us, by allowing us to be good to others without any logic or expectation.
Thanks for this awesome article which after along time reminded me about being good.

@ yogesh, you have a point there, but I think, the upcoming generation gives you a reason to worry, if and only if, you gave a reason to generation prior to you, to worry about, hope you got my point.
